I like this. Quite a soft, creamy, sexy, musky sandalwood. I burn a bunch of cheap and nasty HEM, which is suitable only as a toilet air freshener, then this pops up. I wonder if the branding "Precious" is significant, as not only is the scent decent quality, the cone itself seems better made.

Hmm wonder about the precious part.
ReplyDeleteYes. I've read a comment that the Precious signifies the incense is "pure" - that is, it's not a blend. But as these cones are charcoal, scented with a perfumed solvent (rather than essential oil), I don't think that is right. I don't think there is any real sandalwood in this - neither in the core material nor in the fragrant oil.
DeleteHEM are a chemical company. They buy in blank sticks and cones and then dip them in perfumed solvents.
I think Precious is just a branding they use, and it doesn't signify any genuine upgrade in quality, as I'm not detecting any. Perhaps it signifies the more popular scents in India, as in "these are India's most popular, most precious, scents".
