Hari Dashan Citronella Anti-Mosquito Incense Cones

It's not a huge draw for me - an anti-mosquito incense, even though keeping away flies is a common reason for us to burn incense. And I think it's because I'd regard pretty much any incense as being as useful for keeping away flies or biting insects as a dedicated anti-mosquito one, and I'd rather buy one that smelled nice. My previous experience of anti-mosquito incense has been Mister Chef and FlyAway, and we really didn't like either of those. I only got this one because it came as part of a job lot.

As I'm burning the cone and typing this, so a big buzzy fly has come into my study and flown around me a few times, seemingly unbothered by the incense. Certainly less bothered than I am!

There is a lemon scent, which initially is OK, but then other scents come in, mostly vaguely chemical, along with some smoke. There's a touch of lavender and some burning heather. Which actually makes it sound more pleasant than it actually is.

I'm not impressed with this. I may be prejudiced because of my previous experiences, and because I don't like the idea of an "anti-mosquito" incense in my study, but - whatever - this incense is really not for me.

Hari Darshan Cool Water Incense Cones

"Relieves Tensions and creates Desire" it says on the box. Cute. It's an everyday perfumed cone, nothing fancy, but it has a modestly acceptable aqua mineral scent, moderately sweet, moderately pleasant and inoffensive. Burns well with no off notes. A professionally made charcoal cone impregnated with a professionally made scent. A simple room freshener. The scent is cool and if it were a colour it would be blue. If it were a food it would be a cucumber sandwich made with sliced white bread and margarine.

I'm OK with this as a modest room freshener, though will use it as we do with nearly all cones: in the toilet/bathroom. Cones are less messy and more functional in the toilet. And it is rare for me to keep cones for use in my study after I have reviewed them. Indeed, I think I have only four or five cones that I have scored 40 or more.  Not sure why that is. I suspect I may have a slight prejudice against cones.

Tulasi Strawberry incense Cones

Fairly modest perfumed cone. Has a faint strawberry aroma - the sort of strawberry scent you get on strawberry flavoured sweets. There's also a variable charcoal ash scent. Sometimes dull, sometimes modestly bright. As a scent to be left in a corner to gently inform a room, or used to cover up tired or bad smells, it is just about acceptable. On the whole not impressive.
