Ramakrishna's Natural Handmade Incense Sticks Vasundara

These are weighty sticks with a gorgeous abundance of woody scent. Freshly cut sandalwood, cedar, beech, mixed with earthy scents - wet rich earth freshly turned. Mineral, stone, and some floral notes. Absolutely fascinating. It's a little spicy, peppery, and prickly, but just a tad to lift the interest. Oh gosh, there's lots going on - though it is well grounded in dark, neutral, woody tones. The sticks are messy and crude and very fresh - as though the woman has just finished rolling them. The paste is moist with oils. I love it.

Vasundara (or Vasudhara) is a name meaning Earth, and often refers to a female Buddhist goddess who represents wealth or abundance, especially in regards to harvesting what grows from the ground.

The stick burns a little black when lit, which may indicate the oils used are not pure essential oils, but are fragrant or agarbatti oils - mainly chemical. And the burn is a bit of a let down. Some reasonable musky scents come through, but on the whole it's a little rough and doesn't come anywhere near delivering on the promise of the scent on the stick. It's not offensive - it's a reasonable scent, but any perfumed incense could do this, and decent perfumed incense can do it better.

I suspect the oils used are not top quality.
