Ramakrishna's Natural Handmade Incense Sticks Mint

There is an interesting variance in the scents sold under Ramakrishna's name, which makes the brand more interesting than most. There is an agreeable simplicity about most of the scents - there isn't really a blend of scents, the maker has gone for simple pure scents - as here. The mint scent on the stick is clean, sharp, distinct. There is nothing to balance, contrast, highlight, underscore, etc. This is just a mint scent coming from an essential oil. I got out a bottle of essential oil peppermint, and there is no difference. I'm not getting much awareness of other fragrant ingredients in this stick. It's a charcoal paste hand rolled onto a plain bamboo stick, covered with a woody powder, and dipped in a peppermint oil. 

On the burn the mint scent struggles with the base material, so there is variance during the burn, not helped by the formulation allowing the stick to burn a little hotter and quicker than it should. There's some wood and some spice coming through underneath the mint, the strength of which varies during the burn. At no point does the scent really elevate into anything more than ordinary, everyday incense, and the overall impression is more that of a perfumed incense than a masala, due to the heavy reliance of fragrant oil rather than resins to carry the scent message.
