This is bargain basement synthetic jasmine machine extruded incense. Sold and distributed by the mega India Tobacco Company (ITC) under the brand name Mangaldeep, which is the top selling incense brand in India. It is made for ITC by a variety of small incense companies - using the code stamped on the side I can see that these sticks were made by Krishna Impex of Karuppur, Salem, a company I can't find any information on. There are companies called Krishna Impex, but they are not in Karappur, and there are incense companies in Karappur, but they are not called Krishna Impex.
Anyway. This is right at the lower end of the everyday perfumed jasmine incenses we've recently been trying in our Jasmine v Jasmine burn off. It is recognisable as a synthetic jasmine scent, but it poor quality with too many off notes of smoke and coal and damp, decaying flowers. From what I have experienced so far, it seems that Mangaldeep is the top incense brand in India purely on price and marketing muscle.

Mangaldeep Incense |
Well obviously it will smell bad because it’s cheap and they source incense from a manufacturer that are not known. Managldeep is popular because it’s a cheap incense. I remember that mangaldeep has an incense called sadhvi, it has 100 sticks of 35rs but it is a nice incense but not that heavenly, but their silver tradition, sandal and bouquet is heavenly for me.
