The Incense Sampler African Goddess

Second review - scroll down for earlier

Having a tidy up, and I come upon this pack - not sure why it wasn't put in the outhouse as there's nothing here of interest. Anyway, scent on the stick is candy rose and shoe conditioner with a touch of scorched plastic. It's actually more pleasant than it sounds, with the odd scent notes adding a bit of interest, but it is below average, close to toilet cleaner quality.

The burn is thin - barely noticeable, so I waft the smoke toward me (not encouraged, as it is a health risk to inhale the smoke), and get the same sort of scent as encountered on the stick. It's a little dry and sharp. Some hints of fruit, perhaps strawberry. Anyway, not a scent that impresses me.

The last sticks have been burned
in the outhouse....

The packet says "assembled in the USA", which is a vague statement, though clearly means that - as is common with own brand incense - the sticks are bought loose in bulk from India, and then placed in packets in Salt Lake City.

First review

The Incense Sampler is an American importer and distributor founded in Salt Lake City in 1979. They merged with The Incense Works, and the joint company is now called The Incense Sampler Works

This is a bog standard cheap perfume dipped incense. Thin, poorly applied charcoal paste on pink dyed sticks, and then dipped in a fairly generic floral perfume. The sticks were made in India, imported in bulk, and then packed into plastic sleeves. This came from ExoticIncense in America, and retails for $2.00 for 11gms, which is not good value.

The scent is light, and mildly pleasant in a faint home fragrance floral scent sort of way. It's not crude or offensive, but it's doubtful if anyone will notice it and say, "Oh, that's nice!".  But you can burn it to cover up mild scents, or to take the chill off a room. But, to be fair, you're better off buying something else.
