BIC Nossa Senhora Desatadora Dos Nos (Our Lady Untier of Knots)

 

Grand name! One of the names of the Virgin Mary - based on a painting called Mary, Untier of Knots. This is the last of the bunch of square pack perfumed-charcoal incenses sent as samples by BIC. I've enjoyed going through them, and look forward to exploring the rest of the samples they sent. The sticks in this pack are poorly and thinly hand-rolled - there are occasional gaps so the stick may go out. Also, being thin, it doesn't hold much perfume. This is the only packet I've had so far from BIC which has been this poor, but it does suggest that quality control is perhaps not as tight as it could be. It's likely it's only at this budget end that care is not taken. I think that Indian incense companies are being very competitive  as regards pricing at the lower end as there is a large market which is only willing to pay so much for everyday incense. 

The scent of these sticks is not strong and clear, which, as these sticks are so thin, it's not that surprising. Elements of rose and tea. A sort of floral-mineral accord. It's rather ho-hum. Nothing to get too interested in. Mildly pleasant and inoffensive. It's OK, but is the one that has least impressed me.
