Absolute Bliss Exotic Lavender

 

Not all the incense samples that Corey of Absolute Bliss sent me were Happy Hari incenses, some, like this Exotic Lavender, were from the same source, but - to my knowledge - were not sold by Paul Eagle. It's known that the UK based Gokula and TOI also use the same source for some or all of their incenses, though I am unsure if any of the lavender incense they sell are the same as this - possibly TOI's Lavender Supreme. 

The stick is 9 inches with 7 inches of incense. It's a standard hand rolled masala, slightly scruffy with a crumbly paste, and a smattering of wood powder. There is a perfumed scent on the stick, warm, volatile, minty, melon, faintly floral, nips of licorice, herbs, wool, and a general ambivalent modest body perfume such as Impulse.  It is something of a melange of scents, nothing quite specific, and there really isn't a sense of lavender. It's OK, but only in the same sense that Impulse body spray is OK. It's an everyday pleasant scent. It's not Chanel No 5. 

The scent on the burn does give an awareness of lavender, though in a modest manner, and the overall impression is again of a decently attractive everyday body perfume. Nothing elaborate or interesting, but sufficiently pleasant to be an agreeable companion in the house. There's wafts of soft candy sweetness, and much of the melange on the stick returns in the burn in a satisfactory manner. It's a little soapy and perfumed, but on the whole a likeable incense, albeit not entirely a lavender incense. 

Yes, a solidly decent masala. 

Corey of Absolute Bliss sent me a bunch of samples a while back, which I am now dealing with as Corey is seriously ill with cancer, and the Absolute Bliss website is not operating at the moment.
