"Classic sandalwood incense sticks" is the description by the eBay seller I got this sample pack from. I like the scent of these little sticks, though I wouldn't say that "classic sandalwood" is what springs to mind while they are burning.

There are floral notes here, possibly jasmine, there's possibly some vanilla, possibly sandalwood, possibly some fruit, perhaps baked apple - there's a familiar feel to this, but it's just out of reach. It's pleasant, and it feels quite natural, but at the same time, it feels quite ordinary and everyday - it reminds me of Chinese incense. I think it reminds me Goose Pear. It's like a cross between the Chinese Goose Pear incense and a baked apple pie with custard. It's quite attractive and charming. Nothing especially exciting, and oddly closer to a Juicy Jay's or a Balarama than a typical Japanese incense (though quite fresh, delicate, and natural), but very likeable. Yeah, I could buy a box of these at £37 for  around 550 sticks  and be reasonably happy.
