Champa (or frangipani)
|
Champa indicates a floral incense. While there are several flowers that have the champa name, some of which are used for scent, while others are not, the main flower indicated when an incense is named Champa is plumeria or frangipani, a fragrant flowering shrub. Champa is sometimes conflated with Nag Champa, though they are different scents and different flowers. Nag Champa incense scents are based on champaca, which is a plant in the magnolia family.
