Sai Handicrafts Jasmine

Sai Handicrafts is a British based trading business run by Pinkesh and Bindu Parikh. They have a website, though mainly sell through their market stall in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, and during summer at various festivals around the country. Pinkesh playfully told me he makes the incense himself, though it is clearly made in India, though I don't know where.

I love the colour of this stick. This pack, as with most of the Sai Handicrafts range, is named as "Hand Rolled", though this is clearly machine extruded. I may remove the "Hand Rolled" wording from my posts as the words are not needed to identify the incense, and they could be misleading. There is a slightly chemical aroma on the stick along with a leafy, herbal perfume which points toward jasmine. I find jasmine to be pleasant, but it's not a scent that I fall in love with. I find the sweetness too cloying, and the accord is generally too simple or safe for my taste. And there's a sharpness and fakeness about the scent that I find unsettling. It reminds me of nylon. And that's what I get from the scent on this green stick.

The scent is gentle. A tad sharp, a tad smoky. It is a jasmine scent. It does what it does. It doesn't attract me or hold my interest. There's nothing special here that I've not smelled over 50 times  before. This presents as a fairly average jasmine scented perfumed incense. Well, perhaps just a tad under average. I'm not impressed, but your mileage may vary.  Available from Sai Handicrafts at 15g for £2.00
