Green Tree Shambhala Path

Green Tree are a Dutch distribution company based in Rotterdam who have some decent own brand masala incense made for them by a private label incense company in India. Green Tree have good distribution in UK (£1.50), Europe (€3,00), and Australia ($2.20), and on Amazon (£3.25).

The incense is in standard boxes containing 15g (approx 14 sticks) of incense. Reasonable printed design on the box. Nothing exciting, but acceptable. The inside packet is waxed paper with printed details about Green Tree. Sticks are 8 inches with approx 6 inches of neatly hand-rolled paste on a red dyed machine-cut bamboo splint. The paste has an attractive coating of fluffy sandy-brown wood powder. It all looks good. Scent on the stick is pleasant. Some coconut, some sandalwood, some beech wood, floral notes, a mild volatility. The burn is steady, producing a soft, attractive scent that initially gently informs and then firmly fills the room. The predominant note is sandalwood, with some playful floral and fruit notes weaving around. It is a very pleasant mid to top end everyday masala style incense that I'm quite happy to burn casually around the house. There are weak points - the scent isn't heavenly or interesting, and there hot spots in the burning so some crude notes come in now and again, but on the whole for around £2.00 this is a decent enough Satya type incense.

The title, Shambhala Path, relates to the teachings of Tibetan Buddhist master Chögyam Trungpa
