Sample masala sticks sent by Irene of Rauchfahne. Sandesh have two brands - GR and SAC. They mostly concentrate on perfumed-charcoal incense, though I have had at least two masala style incense from them - Atma Darshan Flora and FrankIncense Myrrh, both under the SAC brand.
Scent on the stick is pleasant, perfumed, floral, some volatility, vanilla - possibly from benzoin, kinda prickly, faint creamy sandalwood. On the whole it presents as a standard perfumed-masala aimed at the West - quite decent and acceptable, though lacking in anything interesting or distinctive.
Scent on the burn is warm, woody, pleasant, sweet. There's a few off notes of burning (the bamboo stick is thicker than the paste, and the charcoal paste is covered in wood powder - the burning scent could come from either or both of those sources). On the whole a decent enough perfumed-masala room freshener. I like it.
