Thurga's Sunrayn Dove

Bright, heady, floral machine-extruded perfumed-charcoal incense from Thurga's Industries in Malaysia. The scent on the stick is sweet, fruity, jammy, and floral. It's quite intense, somewhat volatile, and crudely attractive and engaging. The packet design is bright, colourful, simple, yet bold and attractive. Essentially, what you see is what you get. And this is true of all Thurga's incense, though I've just noticed that this packet is a little different to the other's in that the picture on the back is slightly different to the picture on the front. It is still a white dove with outstretched wings, but it's actually a continuation of the picture on the front - there are two doves in front of the tree and the red sky.

The scent on the burn is a little milder than expected, but is still an attractive everyday room-freshener scent - bright, floral, sweet, fruity, some smoke, and in general quite vague in characterisation. There may well be specific scents that could be picked out - certain florals or fruits (I thought there was a sense of strawberry for a moment, and a sense of jasmine another moment, but these were fleeting impressions), but on the whole I just get a general impression of perfumed-incense floral - which is broadly what I get from most of Thurga's incense. If you like bold, bright, everyday perfumed-incense, you'll like this, with the added exotic flavour of this being from Malaysia, so carries with it images of tropical Malaysia - the colour, the heat, the large flowers, and the wildlife; but if you don't like perfumed-incense then this isn't going to change your mind.
