Bhagwan Incense Mango Masala Incense

My second burn from the new UK based incense shop, Bhagwan Incense. I like something a bit different, and this is a mango incense, something I've not tried before. These sticks are somewhat plumper than the Spring Blossom we burned earlier, and with a more traditional soft brown coloured finishing powder. The sticks are a little shorter - 8 inches, with just over 6 inches of hand-rolled paste. The scent on the stick has melon in it, but also some corn oil, plasticine, and mackerel.  It's not as bad as it sounds, but it isn't encouraging!

The scent on the burn is gentle and pleasing. There is tropical fruit - definitely mango, though also some melon, some green banana, some pineapple, and some lychee. It's an attractive blend. Soft and smooth. There's nothing assertive or too zingy here. Refreshing, yes, but in a quiet, laid back manner. It kinda transports me to a tropical beach under a palm leaf thatch umbrella, sipping a cool tropical fruit drink. It's a cool, cleansing, surprisingly relaxing scent. Let's read the description: " The delicious natural scent of mango, created by adding natural oil derived from a dried mango fruit. Rich, zesty, and a bit citrusy."

This is very likeable. It gives the room an exotic feel quite different to other incenses, and is one of the most pleasing of all the fruit flavoured incenses I have experienced so far. However, it's not been universally liked here, and for me it's been held back from a higher regard by the lack of balance - for me it is just a little too top note heavy - I'd welcome some contrast from some deeper or less fruity notes - some coconut or some chocolate would just make this fly.

Available on the Europe based Bhagwan website for 5.95 Euros for 15g
