Short pack with just 18 sticks - bought from Temu for 90p. The manufacturer is listed on the custom sheet as Yongchun Xintao Fragrance Co Ltd of Dapu Town in Yongchun, Fujian. The logo and presentation is the same as Lao Shan Tan Xiang, listed as made by Jinjiang Jinxiangyi Trading Co of Jinjiang, Quanzhou in Fujian; same as Al Cao Xlang, listed as made by Shamen Ha'Zhong of Tong'an, Xiamen; and the same as three other incenses I've not yet reviewed.
I'm puzzled by this. I have two reasonable explanations: the first is that the set up is similar to Mangaldeep in India - various small incense factories are making incense for one brand; the second is that Temu are using virtual business addresses, such as that provided by The London Office. David Hardy, the very likeable and admirable owner of Ancient Wisdom, has made a video about how angry Temu have made him by their operating practise in which they ship tons of product around the world, but because they list the products as small packets they avoid import tax and vat. My Temu order was delivered in one bag, but inside the bag were 13 individual packets each with their own custom sheet giving a manufacture address and a EU import address - none of these are my address, and are scattered around Europe. My conclusion is that both the manufacture and the import address are convenience addresses, provided to fulfil requirements that these are all small individual orders which therefore come below the import tax threshold.
My conclusion is that all the above incense I have listed is made by the same company. Up to this point I have been listing them under the company name given on the custom sheet (or as close as I could get to reading the name), but I'm now going to go back, and simply list them all as Fujian Incense.

There is little discernible scent on the stick. The scent on the burn is pleasant though modest. It's a dry, clean, white sandalwood. In China, Old Mountain sandalwood refers to Indian sandalwood while New Mountain refers to Australian sandalwood. It's a gentle room freshener. Quite acceptable. A few touches of scorched wood, but mostly light and painless. There's little here to grab my attention or lift my spirits. It is what it is - a low cost, modest, everyday sandalwood room freshener. But I think it is well made, and serves its purpose well.
