Goloka Nature's Sandalwood

I like Goloka incense. It's fairly consistently good quality. The profits go to charitable purposes. And they are not expensive. The packets are mostly the standard masala cardboard box made popular by Satya. The Nature's series come in a standard design which appears to represent a Sanskrit text being used to wrap the incense. Each fragrance in the series has a different colour and different name, but otherwise they're all the same. There appear to be at least 12 different fragrances in the series: Nature's Nest, Nature's Lavender, Nature's Rose, Nature's Meditation, Nature's Parijatha, Nature's Basil, Nature's Herbal, Nature's Patchouli, Nature's Pure Musk, Nature's Sandalwood, Nature's Jasmine, and Nature's Supreme - which can be bought as a set on Amazon for around £12. I have the complete set, though have not yet reviewed them all.

The sticks are the standard masala incense stick length of 8 inches with 6 inches of hand-rolled paste which has been fully coated in the dusty wood bark known as melnoorva, which is traditionally used to prevent the moist sticks from gluing together as they dry, but is also used for appearance, and to signify that these sticks are masala.  There is a pronounced parma violets scent on the stick - something I have noticed in Goloka's Krishna Priya Chandan.

The burn is steady and polite. Gently warming the room with the pleasant, slightly perfumed scent which contains the parma violets from the stick, though also some cosy woody notes. There's some Opal Fruits notes - vague artificial fruit scents - nips of blackcurrant and lime. It's all quite pleasant, though rather brighter, lighter, sweeter, and more fruity than I expected and also than I tend to enjoy.  Some soft, attractive wood notes waft in and around the fruit, though not quite enough for my taste. So, this is OK, but not really my thing.
