BIC / Panchavati

BIC (Bharat Industrial Corporation) is an incense house based in Bangalore, which was established in 1965. Their most famous and notable product is the BIC Panchavati Dhoop Stick, which I've had in the Top Drawer of my Best Rated Incense list for some years. BIC got in touch in 2023, because they had read that I liked the Panchavati, and sent me a bundle of their incense to review.

BIC shared a relationship with Balaji from 2020 to 2024. A separate company - Bindu Incense Craft Llp, which shared owners with Balaji, was formed. It manufactures and markets domestically BIC products. though is separate from BIC.

To clarify the relationship between BIC and Balaji, I have been sent this information:

"In 2020, BIC entered a strategic partnership with Ashish, Dixit, and Nainesh Shah from Balaji, who established a separate company, Bindu Incense Craft, to handle the manufacturing and marketing of BIC products. However, Bindu Incense Craft operates independently and is not the same as BIC. Additionally, Balaji has a different management and is not involved in any way between the two entities."

Ashish Shah is no longer a partner of Balaji, but is a partner in Bindu Incense Craft, and plays a part in developing incense for BIC. Bindu Incense Craft continues to handle the manufacturing and domestic marketing of BIC products. BIC manages its own exports.
