Om Sai's Trishala Chandan Premium Incense Sticks

Part of the Trishala range of machine-extruded synthetic-perfumed everyday budget incense sticks by Om Sai Agarbatti Works in Mumbai who have been trading as Om Brand since 1988. This is their synthetic sandalwood (chandan).  Synthetic sandalwoods are very good - such that a number of perfumeries and incense houses will blend a synthetic sandalwood with an essential sandalwood in order to give it depth and richness, and to broaden the appeal. It seems that awareness and appreciation of the scent of sandalwood is very individual, with some people not being aware of one aspect or other, so blends are more successful.

As with the Yash I just reviewed, this is a fresh and heady incense - typically Indian. I like sandalwood, though I think this one is a little strong to burn while present in the same room. This is a stick best used to inform the whole house while remaining at a reasonable distance. It's a deep and woody and musky and earthy scent, lacking a bit in the sweet notes I like in a sandalwood. For me it lacks richness, elegance, and sexiness.  But if you want a fairly straight on, muscular, and heady sandalwood, then this is for you.

These sell for 75 Rupees for 100g in India. I am not aware, at the moment, of them being on sale outside India. They are decent everyday synthetic sandalwood room fresheners. Good value for money if what you want is a modest room freshener.
