Standard Satya sized and shape box, with standard modern masala incense sticks: 6 1/2 inches of masala charcoal paste hand-rolled onto a plain 8 inch bamboo splint and then covered in brown powder traditionally known as melnoorva, though recently being called masala powder. The stick is highly perfumed - either through the application of liquid scent to the finished stick, or to the melnoorva powder before being applied to the stick. Binders, fixatives, and fragrances are mixed into the charcoal paste before rolling it onto the stick.
The scent on the stick is perfumed, volatile, green (touches of cool cucumber), softly woody (creamy sandalwood). It is cool, feminine, floral. Mildly musky and woody so it doesn't become too girly. I like it, though I'm not carried away by it.
The scent on the burn is delightful, though not adventurous. It is a sort of floral perfumed sandalwood generic incense fragrance. Nicely done, but hardly original. It disperses warmly around the room, and does linger. This is a solid masala incense. Decent stuff, which is marginally closer to something heavenly than average everyday masala incense. Only just, however, it is good. I'm happy to explore more scents from Ullas. Tidy.

Patil Parimala Works, who trade as Ullas Incense, are a successful Indian incense house in Bangalore with established exports to several countries, though they don't appear to be available in the UK (or the US). This pack appears to be branded as Dada or DaDa, with a stylised logo of two facing Ds in the shape of an hour glass. Though that could also be the name of this incense pack. The inner pack is stamped Ullas Spiritual Wisdom, which is the name of another incense I have from Ullas. Is Meditation part of a "Spiritual Wisdom" series? Has the factory used the Spiritual Wisdom inner pack as that is what was to hand, or it's a promotion for Spiritual Wisdom. Or has the wrong pack been accidently put into the pack? Well, it's definitely not the wrong pack as the Spiritual Wisdom smells different, and the sticks are dyed red.
The box is a standard Satya size box in cool grey colours. It's a simple but effective design. The sticks are also standard Satya in size and appearance. There is a cool, pleasant aroma on the stick reminiscent of cucumber - green and fresh. The burn is steady, unobtrusive, with a light though vague fragrance. Some prickly notes suggestive of halmaddi use. It's a decent, cool, laid back incense, suitable for meditation. It's not a scent that is going to intrude, and will aid relaxation as it has a calming influence.
